A Passion for the Community
Ms. Elfin has served as a Grassroot Leader in Seletar East and Cheng San GRCs for over 20 years, dedicating her time to supporting residents.
Recently, she combined her community service with her passion for the arts to benefit Bukit Batok East, introducing her Therapeutic Art Growth services at Inclusive Family Day 2023.
Art as a Tool for Kids to Cope with Stress
Ms. Elfin gave a talk sharing her experiences working with children with special needs and highlighted success stories where therapeutic art helped them manage stress and challenges.
She believes Therapeutic Art Growth is a valuable tool for people of all ages to cope with today's pressures.

Family-Friendly Event
In collaboration with the Binjal Park Neighbourhood Committee, we were thrilled to be part of the vibrant Binjal Street Festival — a community celebration filled with colour, creativity, and connection.
This family-friendly event brought together residents of all ages to enjoy a lively mix of performances, food stalls, and interactive booths.
Hands-On Art Experience
Our outreach booth provided a hands-on art experience for children and their parents, allowing families to paint together, express themselves freely, and discover how therapeutic art can promote emotional well-being. It was heartwarming to see so many smiles, meaningful conversations, and joyful moments shared across generations.
We’re grateful to the Binjal Park NC for this excellent opportunity to connect with the community and share our mission of building confident, resilient children through art and a growth mindset.

World Mental Health Day Celebration
Held on 7th October 2023, the World Mental Health Celebration @ Bukit Batok East saw many residents joining and eager to learn more about mental health and well-being.
There were many booths set up promoting and informing the public of the importance of mental health and wellness, and Start Studio was one of them.
Gracing the occasion was Mdm Rahayu Mahzam, Senior Parliamentary Secretary Minister of Health & Ministry of Law, and Advisor to Jurong GRC GROs, who visited our booth and thanked Ms Elfin for participating in the event!
Inclusive Family Day - 11th Nov 2023
The theme of this event held at Bukit Batok East was Build, Bond and Engage. Organised by Bukit Batok East Neighbourhood Committee, it aims to bring awareness of inclusion to the residents there, and to a large extend, our society.
Start Studio was delighted to be able contribute and share the message of inclusion during this event, and saw many residents participating and embracing the various activities and performances.
Many fonds memories were forged, especially through the mini art canvas set up for the residents to paint and bring home that day!
Edusave Awards Presentation Ceremony 2024
The void deck of an HDB block in Bukit Batok East was bursting with activities on the 13th of January 2024, as families descended there to register for the Edusave Award Presentation Ceremony.
Organised by Bukit Batok East Neighbourhood Committee, many proud moments were witnessed, as recipients donned their graduation hats, to the pride and joy of their parents.
Start Studio was privileged to be able to share this momentous event with the recipients, and also gave out Congratulatory Packs that day, which shared how our Art Sessions can help them continue in their learning journey ahead!
